Update on Tanzania Mission

nicaragua

Missionary Park received the freight containing 1000 lbs of material shipped by air.

Two large wooden crates of materials for the multimedia project were shipped on Nov 10, exactly six weeks ago, and they finally arrived at Tanga missionary complex.

The freight had some problems at Doha, Qatar which were resolved after unreasonable delay with an additional charge, and at Dar Es Salaam airport.

We still have one more crate which is being shipped over ocean and scheduled to arrive at Dar Es Salaam port on Jan. 9.

Fragile electronics (about 150 lbs) will be hand carried to Tanzania.

Pastor Sarah and Elder Cho have booked a flight leaving for Tanzania on January 24 and back on Feb 11.

Pastor Sarah will be teaching fifteen 90 min classes at Tanga Christian Bible College run by the missionary.

In order to create multimedia contents for Living Stone Seminary, Elder Cho will be collecting decent and appropriate DVDs for LSS students, ranging from 7th to 12th grades before he leaves.

If you have DVD’s to donate please bring them to the service for Elder Cho.

Please keep them in your prayers for the shipment and the teaching project.

We would like to invite you to attend FamilyLife’s Weekend to Remember marriage getaway here in Reston, VA on March 23-25, 2012. We have created a special group rate to make it even more enticing;you and your spouse will be charged half rates, only $159 per couple on the registration!

To join my group and receive the special group registration rate, click the ‘Join My Group’ button below and select a getaway location to start the registration process.

We attended this event after being encouraged by church friends and wish we had done it sooner! What an impact it has made on our relationship, our children, and our lives. Whether you have a wonderful marriage or one that has lost its luster, whether you are commited to each other for a lifetime or considering separation and divorce, this Weekend to Remember is the best gift you can give yourself and each other.

Don’t hesitate to ask us why we feel so strongly about this program.

Blessings,

Nargues and Scott Weir

Bi-District Training Day Jan 7, 2012
9AM-3:30PM at Floris UMC
13600 Frying Pan Rd. Herndon

This year’s Keynote Speaker is The Rev. Jorge Acevedo.
Jorge is an elder in the Florida Conference and the lead
Pastor at Grace Church, a multi-site United Methodist
congregation in Southwest Florida. This church has
grown in its weekend attendance from 400 to over 2600
in the past thirteen years and has one of the largest and
most effective recovery ministries in America.
In Wesleyan Christianity the UMC has all it needs to be
faithful and fruitful in today’s world, says Acevedo. The
challenge is to ‘turbo-charge’ the tradition, claim it and
live into it.

What time is it?
hear our prayersIt’s Time to Pray!

We have been reminding the congregation about being on time for service.

When you arrive early, you will have find parking spaces, find time to drop your children off and give yourself time and space to pray before the service.

Praying changes everything, especially before service.

You will be able to sing, receive the Word and truly bless others when there is prayer behind your actions.

Let’s continue this wonderful tradition of praying before service.

Thank you!

Parking Cooperation Needed!parking for Jesus

For parking in the main lot only the elderly, families with expectant mothers, or with children needing booster seats, and new guests are to park in it. For others please use the satellite parking at Spring Hill ES. If you have VA plate on the car and if Spring Hill lot is full then you may utilize the Rec Center parking across the street.

Please do not park on Old Falls Rd.

The home association has been asking us to not park there.

And if you choose to park on Lewinsville Rd, please leave at least five feet space from the driveway to your car.

Green Church

Our church is trying to be ecologically responsible.

That’s the reason for the mugs instead of Styrofoam cups and steel utensils

instead of disposables.

Also please recycle the bulletins.

Please do not leave them in the seats or in the church.

We truly appreciate your help and cooperation.

We could do more but doing one step at a time helps.

Please use the mugs and be part of the green process.

Also consider being part of the Green Team.
